Honjo Foundation Scholarship 2027 in Japan
A fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarship for international students committed to research, cultural exchange, and giving back to their home country.
About the Scholarship
The Honjo Foundation Scholarship supports international graduate students enrolled in Master’s and PhD programs at Japanese universities. It’s built for candidates with a clear academic direction, a strong research plan, and a genuine intention to put what they learn to work back home after graduation.
Selection weighs academic record, the strength of the proposed research, and how clearly a candidate can communicate their goals — alongside a demonstrated readiness to represent their home country and take part in the Foundation’s community of scholars.
Beyond the monthly stipend, recipients join a network built around cultural exchange: they’re expected to attend Foundation conferences and events, engaging directly with Japan’s academic and research community over the course of their degree.
