KOC university is founded in 1993 in İstanbul, Koç University is a non-profit private research university located in Istanbul, Turkey and supported by the resources of the internationally renowned Vehbi Koç Foundation.

Master with Thesis (Research Masters) and PhD (Doctoral) programs

Tuition for all our Master with Thesis and PhD programs is 0 Turkish Lira (TL) as all programs only admit students with 100% tuition waiver scholarships.

After submitting your online application to our Master with Thesis (Research Masters) or Ph.D. programs you may be shortlisted for an interview by the evaluation committee.

After the interview, if you are offered admission into the program you will also automatically receive a scholarship offer.

There are no additional forms or deadlines to apply for a graduate scholarship at Koç University, however, we strongly encourage all PhD applicants to also submit an application to the Turkish Scholarship program so that their monthly stipend and other benefits such as flight from their country of origin to Turkey can be covered by the Turkish Scholarship program funding.

The scholarships for our MA/MSc with Thesis programs include:

100% tuition scholarship (full tuition waiver for all admitted candidates is guaranteed)
Monthly stipend (awarded on a competitive basis depending on the Graduate School or program)
Accommodation (awarded on a competitive basis depending on the Graduate School or program)
Other benefits (awarded on a competitive basis depending on the Graduate School or program)

The scholarships for our PhD programs include:

100% tuition scholarship (full tuition waiver for all admitted candidates is guaranteed)
Monthly stipend (amount depends on the decision of the evaluation committee at the relevant Graduate School and can range between 2.000 – 4.000+ Turkish Lira per month)
Accommodation in the Koç University graduate apartments located near campus or a monthly housing allowance
Health insurance
Office space
Laptop (based on need and depending on decision of the evaluation committee at the relevant Graduate School)
Travel grants to present at selected conferences or to participate in research activities (awarded on a competitive basis)

Master without Thesis (Taught Masters) programs

Tuition for our Master without Thesis programs for the 2019-20 academic year is 96.500 Turkish Lira (TL).

This tuition covers 1 academic year of two (2) semesters (Fall, Spring). The first half is paid at the beginning of the Fall semester upon enrollment and the second half is paid at the beginning of the Spring semester. The tuition fees do not cover other costs such as food, dormitory accommodation, books or transportation.

All Graduate Schools offer Master without Thesis programs. However, typically students are admitted into the Non-Thesis master programs in the Graduate School of Business (MBA, EMBA, MSc Finance, MIM) and the Graduate School of Social Sciences and Humanities Masters in Law (LLM) programs (Public Law / Private Law).

How to apply to Master or Ph.D. programs at Koç University?

To apply to Koç University’s graduate programs as an international student you need to complete an online application form.

Please check carefully the relevant Graduate School website for detailed guidance on admission requirements, eligibility, minimum scores and application deadlines and remember:

Applications with missing documents will not be taken into consideration.
You should not email or post any documents to the university.
There is no need for a separate scholarship application. You only need to apply to the program(s) of your choice. Scholarship decisions are based on academic merit and not financial need.
You can indicate in your Statement of Purpose if you are the recipient or have applied to a specific scholarship scheme (country-based).
The application process is free. There is no application fee (except for Master without Thesis programs in the Graduate School of Business)
