{"id":2554,"date":"2021-03-22T23:03:43","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T23:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thejure.com\/opportunities\/?p=2554"},"modified":"2021-03-22T23:03:43","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T23:03:43","slug":"joint-japan-world-bank-graduate-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thejure.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/22\/joint-japan-world-bank-graduate-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='booster-block booster-read-block'>\n                <div class=\"twp-read-time\">\n                \t<i class=\"booster-icon twp-clock\"><\/i> <span>Read Time:<\/span>2 Minute, 32 Second                <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n<p>\u00a0OPENS 22 MARCH 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Japan Gov\u2019t\/World Bank<\/em><br>Masters Degree<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a021 May 2021 (annual)<br>Study in:\u00a0 selected Countries<br>The course starts in 2021-2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brief description:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Joint Japan\/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ\/WBGSP) is open to women and men from developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries\u2019 development efforts who are applying to a master degree program in a development-related topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Host Institutions\/<\/strong><strong>Programs of study:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JJWBGSP offers scholarships for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/jjwbgsp-participating-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">48 Participating Programs<\/a>&nbsp;at universities in U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan in key areas of development, including economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Target group:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Developing country nationals of World Bank Member Countries<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scholarship value\/inclusions\/duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A JJWBGSP scholarship provides tuition, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel allowance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note all JJ\/WBGSP scholarships cover the duration of the graduate program or two years, whichever is less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Be a national of a World Bank member country on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this list<\/a>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Be in good health;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Hold a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Be employed in development-related work in a paid full- time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application. Have at least 3 years of paid development-related employment since earning a Bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent university degree) and acquired within the past 6 years from the date of the Application Deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 On or before the Scholarship Application Deadline date, be admitted unconditionally (except for funding) for the upcoming academic year to at least one of the&nbsp;<strong>JJ\/WBGSP participating master\u2019s programs<\/strong>&nbsp;located outside of the applicant\u2019s country of citizenship and country of residence listed at the time the call for scholarship applications opens. The letter of admission must be uploaded before submitting your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Not be an Executive Director, his\/her alternate, and\/or staff of any type of appointment of the World Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term \u201cclose relative\u201d defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 2021 Application round will open on 22 March 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To be considered for a JJ\/WBGSP scholarship, you must first apply and be unconditionally accepted for admissions to at least one of the Participating Programs.&nbsp;<\/strong>The scholarship application must be submitted online before&nbsp;<strong>21 May 2021.<\/strong>&nbsp;In your application,<strong>&nbsp;YOU NEED TO UPLOAD AN UNCONDITIONAL
