As a key comprehensive university, Hebei University (HBU) is co-constructed by Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Hebei Province. It is also one of the first-level universities participating in China\u2019s construction plan of national first-class university and world-class disciplines, with strong support from the Hebei Provincial Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The university was originally founded as Tianjin Technology and Business University in 1921, located at No.141, Machang Road, Tianjin. It was renamed as Tianjin Technology and Business College in 1933 due to its small scale. In 1948, it was registered as Jingu University with 10 departments of 3 colleges. In 1951, the university was approved by the Central People\u2019s Government to be a public one, which ushered in a new era under the leadership of Tianjin Municipal Government and founded 3 colleges and 13 departments. Then the Central People\u2019s Government decided to adjust the layout and departments of universities in 1952. The Technology Department of Jingu University was incorporated into Tianjin University, while the Finance and Economics Department into Nankai University. Besides, Tianjin Normal College was established on the basis of Normal Educational Department, which continues the history of Hebei University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
