Call for MEXT Scholarship application for October 2021 intake is now open!
(For Doctoral Degree Program only)
We are pleased to announce that the applications to the International Graduate Program on Civil and Environmental Engineering, funded by the MEXT Scholarship program, is now open. The application period for October 2021 intake has a very limited timeframe, but we welcome applications that meet the following criteria.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR A MEXT SCHOLARSHIP
be a national of a country where the Japanese Government Scholarship is offered.
• be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2021. (le, born on or after April 2, 1986)
SCHEDULE FOR APPLICATIONS AND ADMISSION
January 20, 2021- Deadline for receiving applications for the October 2021 intake (Please consult with us if you cannot send the full application documents by the deadline)
February 5, 2021- Notification of results to short-listed candidates
February 5-19, 2021- Internet-based interviews for short-listed candidates
March 15, 2021- Notification of results to applicant
September 28, 2021- Graduate program begins
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

a. Completed application form (Form A)
b. Original certificate of graduation (undergraduate and/or graduate programs)
c. Certified copy of the certificate of graduation (undergraduate and/or graduate programs)
d. Two sealed letters of recommendation (Form B)
e. Essays on selected topics (Form C)
Certificate of English proficiency (minimum score 80 for TOEFL (IBT) or 5.5 for IELTS or equivalent. (Department institutional code for TOEFL: 7314)

Notes:
Applicants are strongly discouraged from contacting the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Government of Japan regarding MEXT Scholarship. All communications regarding the scholarships shall be conducted through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Saitama University
